I’m Samantha, Your Edmonton Newborn Photographer
Little One Photography began in 2022 with a modest aspiration: to provide a safe, welcoming refuge for new parents to relax and feel completely at ease. Having someone trust for your newborn and, more specifically, those first weeks, might feel like a huge leap. So, I designed my Edmonton studio more as a worry free retreat than a traditional photo studio.
I’ve had the privilege of photographing hundreds of Edmonton families during some of life’s most meaningful moments. As a certified infant first-aid trained newborn photographer, safety and comfort are always my highest priorities. My goal is simple: to create a calm, welcoming experience where parents can relax and enjoy these precious moments while beautiful memories are being preserved.

Which photography session is right for my family?
If you’re unsure which session is the best fit for your family, we’re always happy to help. Feel free to contact us, and we’ll guide you toward the option that best matches your child’s age and your goals for the session.
As a general guide, newborn sessions are designed for babies between 5 and 30 days old. Milestone sessions are ideal for babies between 3 and 10 months who are beginning to smile, sit, or show off their personality. Cake smash sessions are typically scheduled around your child’s first birthday, while family sessions are perfect for older children and growing families who want to document this stage of life together.
When is the best time to schedule a newborn photo session?
We recommend booking your newborn session as early as possible, especially if you’re expecting during the busy summer months. Most families reserve their session 4–6 weeks in advance.
Newborn sessions are ideally scheduled when your baby is between 5 and 14 days old. At this stage, babies generally sleep more deeply and are more comfortable being gently posed.
We welcome newborns up to 30 days old. However, after the first two weeks, babies tend to become more alert and may be less comfortable with certain poses, so specific poses cannot be guaranteed.
Do you offer in-home newborn photo sessions?
Yes, I do offer in-home lifestyle sessions.
The reason I don’t actively advertise them is because the final style depends heavily on your home’s natural light, available space, and interior design. While every home is beautiful in its own way, I personally prefer creating images that reflect your family’s unique environment rather than bringing in a studio lighting and making every home look the same.
If you love my work and feel I might be the right photographer for your family, but would prefer a session in your own home, I’d be happy to discuss the possibilities. Feel free to reach out, and we can determine whether an in-home session would be a good fit for your vision.
How long does a typical newborn photography session last?
A typical newborn session takes about 3–4 hours. We don’t set a strict time limit, as every baby and family is different. Your baby may need extra time for feeding, soothing, or diaper changes, and older siblings may need a little more time to warm up and cooperate.
We want the session to feel relaxed rather than rushed, so we simply follow your baby’s pace and allow the time we need to create beautiful images safely and comfortably.
How long does it take to receive our photos?
Within 3 days of your session, you’ll receive a proof gallery to review and select your favourite images. Once your selections have been made, your final hand-retouched portraits will be delivered within 15 days.
Every image is personally edited with care to ensure your gallery reflects the timeless quality and attention to detail that Little One Photography is known for.
Where is your photography studio located in Edmonton?
Our studio is located in the Windermere area of Edmonton. As a home-based studio, we’ve created a warm, welcoming space where families can relax and enjoy their photography experience in a quiet neighbourhood setting.
If you’ve booked an outdoor family session, we’ll meet directly at your chosen location, so there’s no need to stop by the studio beforehand.
What happens after I submit an inquiry?
Once you submit an inquiry, you’ll receive a personal response from me with answers to your initial questions, along with pricing and session information for the service you’re interested in.
From there, we’ll schedule a quick phone consultation to answer any additional questions, discuss your vision, and ensure we’re planning the perfect session for your family.
I typically respond to inquiries very quickly. If you haven’t heard back within 24 hours, please check your spam folder. I may not be able to answer phone calls right away. For the fastest response, I recommend contacting me through the inquiry form or email.
What is included in your photography collections?
My photography collections are designed to be simple and straightforward. Most collections include your pre-session consultation, session planning, session time, professionally retouched images, and a selection of album or printing options.
Rather than charging a separate session fee and asking you to purchase images afterward, I prefer an all-inclusive approach whenever possible. This allows you to focus on enjoying the experience and choosing the collection that best fits your family’s needs.
