Some frequent asked questions about our Edmonton Newborn Photo Session

Safety:

Q: Has everything involved in the newborn photo shoot been sanitized?

A: Yes, all the clothes and wraps are washed before each use. I schedule only one photo shoot per day, ensuring the entire house is sanitized with alcohol before your arrival. The safety of your baby is my top priority.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes, I have commercial insurance and all the necessary permits. I pay extra attention to both babies and your safety, although I hope you won't need it.

Q: How do you ensure my baby's safety?

A: My sessions are baby-led, meaning I only do what your baby allows. I never force newborn babies into poses. I frequently attend newborn classes and other training, including first aid, to stay updated on the latest information about newborns' mental and physical health. With experience starting in 2020, I'm confident in my knowledge of what to do and what not to do.

Location & Business Hours:

Q: Where are you located?

A: I'm located in the Windermere area of Edmonton.

Q: Can you come to my house to take photos?

A: We only conduct family documentary photos at clients' houses. For studio posing for your newborn, it's recommended to come to our studio, equipped with a garage for parking, warm water, snacks, and a comfortable setting.

Q: What time should I show up?

A: You can choose your preferred time to arrive. Each newborn baby has a different schedule, and we work around your baby's time.

Q: How long will each session be?

A: Our sessions typically last from 3-5 hours, depending on the baby.

Process & Timing:

Q: When is the best time to take newborn photos?

A: Newborn photography sessions should ideally take place during the baby's first 5-14 days for the best results. I accept babies up to 6 weeks old, but some poses may not be possible for older babies.

Q: If I want to book, what is your process like?

A: We will arrange a 20mins free zoom meeting first. This is a good opportunity for us to know each other and have an idea about what you are looking for in your session. Once you decide to book, I will send you a contract and payment options to secure your date. Then we will have one hour meeting online or in the studio to discuss the set up you like. Before your session date, I will send you a very detailed prep guide to help you prepare for the session. During the session date, I will take care everything for your baby including diaper changing and bottle feeding.

Q: What if my baby won't sleep; should I expect fewer photos?

A: I don't set a time limit for newborn sessions, so you can expect the same number of photos. If your baby stays alert, I may need to wrap them up for safety.

Q: Can we bring dogs/cats to the studio?

A: Yes, you can, but they need to leave the studio when they are done with their part.

Q: How many people can I bring to the family session?

A: I typically photograph immediate family members during newborn photography sessions.
